Is Excessive Mucus In Stool A Cause For Concern?
Question: I have a lot of mucus in my stools, is this a symptom of something?
Brief Answer:
Supportive care
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Lot of mucus in stool may be attributed to constipation, a functional bowel decline, an incontinence or anal tract infection. Small amounts is normal intestinal secretion to lubricate bowels but if the amount is large above mentioned etiologies need to be ruled out by slight work up and management accordingly. Talk to your doctor and let them have a look and decide what is best for you.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
