Is Extreme Drowsiness A Symptom Of CKD5?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
No
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Extreme sleepiness is not common with Ckd 5. A generalised lethargy which causes slight drowsiness is common. it's better to get evaluated for hypothyroidism. Also high magnesium can produce such a condition. underlying occult sepsis ( infection) can lead to excess drowsiness. As you are having aneurysm in the brain , better to get evaluated for any leakage from the aneurysm.
This is associated with poly cystic kidney disease . with such a family history and hypertension, possibility of PKD is high.
You can check creatinine now. infact a change in diurnal pattern of sleep is common in stage 5 of CKD which is probably the indication for the initiation of dialysis.
Hope it helps.
