I passed briefly out during a work related PFT. Was I injured? Is the passing out a compensable work related injury?
Brief Answer:
PFT is effort dependent test.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, Now I am able to understand your question partially. PFT is totally effort dependent test. If you do not give your best effort, you will not get accurate result. Causes of poor FVC reult are
1. Poor effort
2. Lung disease like restrictive lung disease.
And PFT is not the diagnostic test for any lung disease. So if your PFT report is poor than it is not always suggestive of lung disease.
So if you are healthy and having no respiratory complains and PFT report is poor due to poor effort than it does not mean that you are suffering from disease.
So relax and keep calm.
Hope I have cleared your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
