Is Fluctuating Creatinine Level Normal?

Question: My creatinine levels vary quite a bit. Today it has gone from 1.00 to 1.22 mg/dl. Before that they varied from 1.30 to 1.49. I use an expensive meter. Is this fluctuating normal?
Brief Answer:
Yes it can be normal
Detailed Answer:
HI XXXX
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .
Creatinine levels depends on Body hydration, Kidney function and muscle mass . Since muscle mass doesn't change day by day only Body hydration and Kidney function determines Creatinine levels .
If there is no other illness which is affecting your kidney then the only explanation for fluctuating creatinine is your hydration, that is the amount of fluids you take everyday . As hydration can vary day to day mild fluctuation in creatinine is also normal as long as it is in normal range .
Hope this answers your query .
