default
Posted on Thu, 6 Jul 2017
Question: Hi,

I recently broke my tooth to the nerve, the dentist put a temporary filling in as I am on holiday and I am hoping to get it fixed when I am back home.
I have had no pain for the last 2 months, should I be okay to fly?
It's a long flight (24 hours) to be in pain if it's not all okay.

Thank tou

Brief Answer:
Nerve injury, pain, medication, Root canal treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The tooth pain cannot be predicted since it is secondary to trauma. If the tooth fracture is involving the nerve then pain can come any time. Nothing to worry. You can travel. If at if you develop pain during journey, If i am your treating doctor, i would have suggested you to take a course of antibiotics like amoxycillin and analgesics like diclofenac(if you are not allergic). Once you come back home, you can get the tooth root canal treated.
I hope i have answered your query. If you have any queries reply me back. Take care.
