Posted on Sat, 19 Jul 2014
Question: I am planning to travel with my i.5 month old baby via airlines. Is it safe? Any precaution which I can take? Also, if you can let me know the alerting signs which I should watch out for in her to rule out any problem due to fying.

Brief Answer:
yes its safe

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.
By three months, your baby will be a pretty good traveller. She's no longer as fragile.

Some precautions you should take are -
Stay away from people who are sick.
Stay away from enclosed or crowded public areas.

Pack a first aid-kit, with supplies such as infant paracetamol for relieving a fever, a colic treatment, saline nose drops for stuffy noses, and teething gelfeed.

Feed your baby on take-off and landing to ease any earache.
Fly with your baby on your lap.

Some danger signs to be watch for are-
inconsolable crying, repeated vomiting, refusal to feed,
excessively drowsy, fast breathing.

Hope i helped you.

Thank you for your reply. But my baby is not 3 months yet. She is 1.5 months now and by the time we travel, she will be 8 weeks.

Will it be safe?

it's okay

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.
Sorry i take it as 15 months baby as you have written like " i.5 month".
Coming to your query,
At 8 weeks or onwards you can fly safely.
It also depends where you are going, like if you are going to developed countries there will very less chances of getting exposed to infections.
Hope i helped you.
Happy to help you in case you have some more doubts or kindly close the discussion.
