Question: Hello, I am emailing you to find out an option for a family member that sounds life threatening either way. Female who is 68 has documented high blood pressure, not always compliant until recently, suffering from a serious stroke and now has returned to the hospital with a gall bladder issue. The neurosurgeon does not want her to have any type of surgery for at least 3 months, but surgeon says her gallbladder needs to be removed ASAP. What do we do, in your opinion?

Brief Answer:
Please provide few more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Aa per standard text,

Timing is important when it comes to surgery after a stroke, a new study suggests. Researchers are reporting that patients who had an ischemic stroke within 3 months before undergoing elective noncardiac surgery were at relatively high risk for cardiovascular events and mortality but that the risks stabilized after 9 months.

Various trials have shown that patients who have sustained a stroke should wait 9 months before having elective surgery but at the end of the day its doctor who decides the pros and cons in a early surgery.
As per NCBI,
The length of time between the stroke and the surgery was an important factor. The incidence rate of 30-day ischemic stroke was 149.6-fold higher in patients with stroke less than 3 months before surgery compared with patients without stroke.
Please attach all reports concerning her gallbladder. Why is an urgent surgery required in gallbladder case?

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX
I will try to get more information and additional reports to send to you tomorrow.
From my understanding, the doctors think her gall bladder is causing her blood pressure to soar, reading of 187/120.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
No blood pressure has no relation to any gallbladder problem.
Only possibility is that it can raise transiently during pain due to stimulated nervous system.

Follow up with reports.
