Is Having A Low Lying Placenta During Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?
Hope you are doing good.Just few questions:
I had my ultrasound done on 19th week of pregnancy and currently on 20th week of pregnancy. The ultrasound report came out to be absolutely normal just that placenta is posterior, low lying, reaching os,grade 1.My doctor has advised not to have intercourse and avoid lifting heavy objects and exersion.Anything to worry doc in this case.
Should I take extra precaution?
Also I take Susten 300 mg vaginally at bedtime.Generally there is a lot of discharge white in the morning.Today in the morning,I saw a very small whitish, yellowish discharge on my bedsheet. When I wiped my vagina,it was absolutely clean .I went to my doctor and she checked and tuchwood baby is normal.Heartbeat is normal. She told might be I inserrted little harder ,and since my placenta is low,its better to take Susten 300 orally instead of vaginally. My question is the capsule which i am taking vaginally,is it the same one to be taken orally.I am confused as in prescription she has written Susten cap 300 mg sr.so is dere a difference.
Also heard vaginally is more effective than orally so will taking orally affect the baby or should i continue vaginally.
Also can I have mushrooms during pregnancy.
Not worrisome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Mildly low lying grade I placenta praevia is not worrisome at 19 weeks. It will gradually shift upwards as the pregnancy progresses. After 28 weeks, the placenta is likely to reach the upper segment. Avoiding intercourse and heavy work will decrease the chances of sudden bleeding.
The discharge in the morning is due to susten tablet that you are using vaginally. The same capsule can be taken orally also. It is the same preparation for both kind of uses.
Taking is vaginally is more effective and is associated with lesser side effects. It is better to continue taking it vaginally if you can.
You can have mushrooms during pregnancy.

Thanks for your reply.but i showed my prescription to chemist and he said it is a tablet taken orally but doctor has said capsule .n m totally confused..is it the same capsule which i take vaginally to be taken orally.
Its better i take vaginally.kindly advise.quite tensed as i have to go to doctor after two weeks
The same capsule is used orally also.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Susten comes as a softgel capsule. The chemist does not have a detailed information regarding the medicine. The same capsule can be used both orally or vaginally. There is no harm in using it in either ways. If it is causing a heavy discharge on using vaginally then use it orally. In case you do not have any problem then use it vaginally.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.

The vaginal route is more effective.
If you insert the capsule too deep then it can cause mild spotting.
You can feel the flutter after 18 weeks. It is time to feel the baby's slight movements.
No need for absolute bed rest unless there are no symptoms. You can travel by car.
Yes you can eat green vegetables like gourd, tinda and XXXXXXX

Do get the next scan at 26 weeks.

Few questions
Can i take ecosprin 75 in evening as after dinner I have to take fervovit also.
Also its a strange observation, Everytime i touch any electric switch at home or say my computer mouse, there is strange numbness in.my right hand .What is the readon for that?My family members do not feel any electic current but I feel a tingling sensation in my hand and palm.
What is the reason for this?
I will be entering my 6th month this 22nd XXXXXXX ,what are the chances of miscarriage now as i m really worried
When will i actually feel baby kicks though i feel flutter now.
Kindly advice.
You can take ecosprin in evening.
Detailed Answer:
You can take ecosprin in the evening. The feeling of numbness in the hand is normal during pregnancy due to slight swelling around the nerve sheaths. This will subside after the delivery. Taking Vitamin B 12 supplements meanwhile will help.
The chances of miscarriage after fifth month are extremely low. If there is no pain in the lower abdomen then you need not worry.
The flutter that you are feeling are baby kicks that are not strong enough as the baby is small in size. As the baby grows these kicks will gradually become stronger. You will feel proper kicks in seventh month.
