Is Hemoglobin Level Of 12.1 During Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

Question: Hi
Im 31yrs old.
Im 18weeks pregnant and its my 3rd pregnancy.

Im taking pregnacare + asprin 75 + vitD 1,000 + ostocare calcium.

I did a full blood count test at the beginning of my pregnancy my hemoglobin was 13.1 and today i did another blood count and my hemoglobin have decreased to 12.1

Do you think it will keep on decreasing and should i should take iron supplement?

My gyno recommended sidral forte, to avoid iron defeciency!

But i have never taken any iron in all my past pregnancies.

In my fisrt pegnancy i checked my file in week 32 my hemoglobin was 12.5

So what do u suggest.

I gave you full details of my case, i think its clear enough!!!

I dont have any report all in my file in the hospital. All results are normal also my hemoglobin is normal but jyst starting to decrease!!

Please go back to my case and read it again. All clear i dont thing u need more informations.
My question is simple and clear

Hello Dear,

Thanks for your information and I have gone through your query in detail.

I suggest you to start Iron supplements (Sidral Forte) as prescribed by your treating doctor as iron demand will be increased in the 3rd trimester and you may suffer from iron deficiency due to reduce of body iron, though hemoglobin level is good at present. You should continue other medicines also.

Do periodic check up and complete all necessary investigations. Take protein added diet and take adequate bed rest.
