Is High Cholesterol And Arrhythmia Correlated?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I recently carried a portable ECK monitor for 24 hours to measure the frequency of arythmia. A 1-day monitoring of my heart revealed 129 irregular heartbeats (out of approximately 101,000). Would you agree that this is not, in and of itself, a worrisome pattern? (I expected worse).
Also, is there a correlation betwen high collesterol (which I have to a mild degree) and arythimia.
I am a 58 year old male; non-smoker; physically fit.

Brief Answer:
Good ECG
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you fir asking Healthcaremagic,
I understand your concern. Regarding to what you have written everything is ok with your ecg. And it is not important how many irregular beats you have, more important is there structure. But you have already been told that this was nothing relevant, so this is perfect. High cholesterol can lead to vessel damage which can lead to little infractions in your heart what could cause arrhythmia. But in your case these arrhythmia have a different origin.
My suggestion is to get a echocardiography done to be sure that everything is ok.
I hope this answer was helpful to you.
regards,
Good ECG
