Question: Doctor said I needed two hip replacements. Even though X-rays seemed to confirm this I knew there was major pain in certain spots in my legals and thighs. Present
Ly I am on forteo, hoping for improvement. A therapist gives me massage and encourages me to walk twice a week. She also releases trigger points and has taken training for this. In the meajntime I am uncomfortable I witl pain in my groin and outside of my leg. I get around with an electric Carr as I cannot walk. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
avoid surgery at this age

Detailed Answer:
Hi Bijland XXXXXXX
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

How was your day?
Hope this message finds you in good health.

I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.
I generally see many cases like this at my clinic.and we do not advice surgery at this age.

In your case, considering your age and the risk factors involved for surgery, its better to avoid surgery. The bone at this age are weak, so the implant fitted during replacements may loosen up later.

The cement used for surgery, the anesthesia risks involved, the amount of blood loss involved...all make the surgery option a totally NO-NO situation.

I think, the way you are living your life right now is absolutely perfect and you should continue with it henceforth too.

Out 0f 100 %, atleast 50-70 % pain will be reduced with physiotherapy massage and medicines. Remaining pain would be quite negligible. and you should continue this for the remaining life.

Surgery, at this age, has more complications than benefits.

take safer analgesics like tramadol, piroxicam etc, that have lesser side effects on your kidneys. apply local gel, hot fomentation.

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about, as long as i am there to help you.
I hope your question has been answered.
