Is Hydrocortisone Suggestible For Allergy To Facial Hair Removal?
Question: I used Nads facial hair removal creme. My skin is raised, red, and has many small pimple/blisters. It itches and hurts a lot. I used hydrocortisone and now neosporin. Is this correct? It looks real bad...
Brief Answer:
Hydrocortisone on face is not advisable
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
Local application of strong steroid like Hydrocortisone is not advisable on the face.
It's likely that you have developed folliculitis along with surrounding inflammation. It would be more helpful if you could provide me with clinical photograph for exact assessment of lesion.
Take care

Brief Answer:
Allergic contact dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
Thanks or clinical photograph. These lesion are typical of allergic contact dermatitis. Facial skin is very sensitive and is more prone for harsh ceimical. There is also grade 1 superficial burns over the chin likely to be due to exaggerated reaction.
I would advise you the following
1. Prevent direct exposure to sunlight
2. Use mild face wash to wash the face thrice a day
3. Stop application of any cosmetics or moitourizing cream/lotion
4. Stop Hydrocortisone local application
5. Mometasone cream for local application , followed by application of liquid paraffin is advisable. Apply the mematasone cream and after that apply liquid paraffin in the same way as you apply moitourizing cream.
If there is itching or burning Tablet Hydoxyzine which is an anti-histaminic can be taken.
Do get back to me for any further query.
Take Care
Best Regards
Dr Shobha
