Is Increased Globulin Level A Matter Of Concern?
High globulin ,normal albumin and low a/g ratio.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.
According to your tests results I can say that your globulin level is slightly increased.
The normal range for globulin level in blood is 2.3-3.5 gm/dL.Your level of 4.1 is over the normal range.
Your albumin level of 4.0 g/dl is normal (the normal range is 3.5–5.0 g/dL).
Optimal range for albumin/globulin ratio is : 1.7-2.2
In your case this your A/G ration is too low because your level of globulin is high.
There are a large number of causes for elevated levels of globulin including:
-Chronic infections (parasites, some cases of viral and bacterial infection)
-Liver disease
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Ulcerative colitis
-Autoimmune disease (Systemic lupus, collagen diseases)
-Kidney dysfunction
It is difficult for me to say something more than that.
Your additional symptoms, medical history ,detailed physical examination and additional blood tests are necessary to understand better the cause of this.
If you can provide me more information about your actual symptoms ,your medical history and the results of all the tests you have done ,I might offer you a better judgement about the possible cause.
Hope my answer has helped.
Let me know if you have other questions or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
Kind Regards!

Repeat the test after 1-2 weeks.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Since you don't have any symptom of possible infections or autoimmune diseases, and your metabolic tests were normal (means that your kidneys and liver are normal) then you don't need to worry.
The globulin level is over the normal range but not too high to suspect serious causes.
Sometimes it might be a false positive from the lab.
I would suggest to repeat these tests (albumin ,globulin and a/g ratio) again after 1-2 weeks.
If the level of globulin is still elevated your doctor may order additional tests.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Take care!
