Is It OK To Use The Sauna?
Question: have an infrared sauna..I have a metal stent. is it OK to use the sauna?
Brief answer...Infra red sauna is a safe method
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
People having stents or even pace makers can use IR sauna and there is no danger in it.
You are advised to take plenty of fluids before and after the sauna,as it causes profuse sweating and may result in electrolyte loss.
since it dilates the blood vessels,IR sauna genrally helps hypertensive people.
In my opinion, you can go ahead with it but you must talk to your treating doctor and take his permission before going for sauna.
I hope it helps however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
