Is It Good Sleep More Than 8 Hours A Day?
Carefully read this and take action.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using HCM.
1. The fact is that a person needs more than 6 to 7 hours of sleep.
2. If this is exceeded by 1 and a half hours, there isn't any issue.
3. You sound like an active person. Therefore let's be practical.
4. Can you kindly "divide" your sleeping times into a normal nights sleep
and a siesta?
5. There is no medical pathology in 8.5 hours of sleep.
6. It is an illness to sleep for 12 hours or more, or tend to suddenly dose
off in the middle of a conversation (without the influence of drugs).
This is called narcolepsy.
7. I feel that you are fine, by medical standards.
8. You can feel free to keep yourself engaged in activities, but make sure you
get at least 7 hours of sleep.
Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
Do you feel unsettled or ill in any way after a good sleeping session?
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for your question.
It's normal to rest for 9 hours. Of course if it bothers you, perhaps the sleep can be divided into a nights sleep and a siesta (nap).
Do you feel unwell, or disconcerted or disturbed in some way after you wake up from a nine hour rest? I'm just curious.
Feel free to elaborate.
Regards,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
Your sleep pattern is perfectly normal. You can change it though.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
It just happens to be that it's a belief on your part that one must not sleep for extended hours. It's a personal conviction. The fact happens to be that as age progresses, the individual in different phases of life sleeps in different patterns.
Since there is nothing abnormal about your pattern, at best if you really strongly feel so, you could attempt to change it, so long as, you get a minimum of 6 to 7 hours of sleep at night.
Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
