Is It Necessary To Have Sodium Fluoride Test In A Diabetic Neuropathy?
Question: I have Diabetic neuropathy. My A1C as of two months ago was 5.8%. I wanted to take a Glucose Plasma 12 hour fasting test. My result was Glucose Pasma NAFL= 72. Why the sodium flouride? Did I take the right test? Thank for indulging me.
If is the right test can
I get Hypoglycemic with just metformin. My carbs are between 80 and 90 daily and I know I must bring this down. It was lower 2-3 months ago at 60 carbs daily. My feet (my whole vascular system must keep me dilligent).

Brief Answer:
You have taken the right test. No need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
You have taken the right test. Sodium fluoride stops the utilization of glucose by the live RBCs and WBCs in the blood sample and hence preserves accuracy of the blood glucose level. Hence it is added.
HbA1c level is good. It shows a reasonable level of control.
