Is It Normal To Have Itching Sensation During Day While On Albendazole?

Question: I was prescribed Albendozale for Pinworms and i took my first dose last night. I mostly just itched at night before i took the albendozale however today i am itching more duringbthe day...is this normal? Can you explain to me what is happening? How long for me to get some relief? What can i expect?

Albendazole 11 mg/kg of body weight is the correct dose schedule for the pinworm. You have to repeat it after two week if you do not look any changes in the symptoms.

All the family members should be treated simultaneously. Otherwise pinworm infections will be maintain in your family.

You can add cetrizine tablet to your regiment it will help you in the itching problem.

Please maintain good hygiene that will help cure infection at earliest.

Do not share personal care equipment of home like napkins, bedsheets etc with family members until you are cured.

Albendazole effect start from 2 to 4 hours and action last approx for 16 to 18 hours.

As you have taken on 29th it's action start after few hours and can continue till 16 to 18 hours.
