What Could Red Itchy Bumps On Bottom Be?

My son had a small red itchy bump at the edge of his bottom a few days ago. We thought it was a bug bite. He scratched it and it got bigger and scabbed over. Now it is itching more, has a red area around it, and he has a few more similar bumps near it (also itchy). No other bumps on his body. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that he might be having fungal infection or dermatitis on the part.
It seems that due to itching there might be having some bacterial infection.
Apply triple acting cream locally.
Take antihistamine like Cetrizine or Benadryl for itching.
Keep local hygiene proper.
Ok and take care.
