Is It Possible To Achieve Erection After Getting Recovered From Edema In Testes And Penis?

Question: My boyfriend is recovering from severe edema due to liver issues. The edema cause enormous swelling of the testes and penis, and he has had trouble achieving an erection since, Is it likely that his ability to function sexually will return?
