Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please give some more information? Why was the large intestine removed (due to ulcerative colitis or cancer)? Do you have j-pouch done in the rectum? Do you have well formed stools or diarrhea? Do you have any bloating, gas obstruction? Why do you want to have small intestine surgery?
I`m looking forward to hearing from you.

Briefly, I had diverticulitis, had surgery, ended up with colostomy bag, a year later
the colostomy bag was removed as well as the large intestines. I did have a
colonscopy prior to that.
so now, following a pneumonia shot, I have contracted pain in the back and
back of arm-I am now taking vicodin as needed. (some days more than others)
The follow-up from X-rays showed the fractured rib.
Since the bowel samples showed blood, the Dr. feels we should do the colonscopy,
as well as bone scan.
continue: I have diarahea every day. As for why the large instestines were
removed, I have No idea.

Brief Answer:
You still have some large intestine left.
Detailed Answer:
It is impossible to removed whole large intestine due to diverticulitis. Not at all. So I am pretty sure you still have some part of large intestine. And I do not see the reason why the small intestine should be operated.
Even if colonoscopy will reveal the reason of bleeding (hemorrhoids are the most common reason) it will be located in the large intestine.
