Is It Possible To Get Negative Pap Smear Test Despite Suffering From Genital Warts?
My question is it possible to get hpv result negative and i do have warts?? Does that mean no hpv in cervix and there is in vigaina???
Can these warts transfer easly to mouth and anal canal?
Can warts transfer to the cervix if i didnt get vaccination?
Are genital warts in vigaina, vulva, mouth and anal can cause cancer?
Can these warts transfer easly to my kids if using same toilet? Or catching them?
I would have to say that the pap smear is not always accurate, sadly
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. It is good to know that syphilis is ruled out as other than HPV, syphilis is the other infection that can result in the appearance of genital warts.
But as you asked, the result of a negative pap smear (which is used to diagnose HPV) does not always mean that HPV can be adequately ruled out as there are so many cases with false-negative results. I would thus recommend a repeat pap smear to be conducted by an experienced doctor or medical personnel in order to get a more accurate result.
+It is quite likely that you may have HPV due to the genital warts, I would thus recommend all the precautions to be taken to prevent transmission until there have been numerous tests conducted and HPV has been adequately ruled out.
+The transmission of HPV can take place when a healthy individual goes about oral, vaginal or anal sexual contact with an HPV-infected individual. But depending on the strain of HPV, then warts appear.
+Yes they can
+Yes, certain strains of the HPV virus that cause genital warts can result in cancer, but this is a rare occurrence
+It is very important to maintain good personal hygiene, but yes, transmission is quite easily possibly. Preferably use different toilets, but HPV cannot transmit by just holding your kids, or hugging them or any such activities. The most common modes of transmission are anal, oral and vaginal sex.
I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
Cancer should not be a cause for concern for you ma'am, it is unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
Cancer is highly unlikely, especially if you go about regular (at least once a year or every 6 months) pap smears, so please do not worry about cancer at all ma'am.
It is possible for the tests to come negative as the test itself is not accurate, and can result in providing a negative result even when the person is actually infected. Which is why I advised you to repeat the pap smear in a few days time, but this time specifically request for an experienced and trained doctor or medical personnel to conduct the test.
Best wishes.
