Is It Possible To Have Endometriosis At The Age Of 70?
Question: Is it possible to have endometriosis aged70. I have had it all my life since I was 19
and it has been suggested that it could be pressing on my bowel or bladder.
Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Endometriosis can sometimes persist after menopause; or hormones taken for menopausal symptoms may cause the symptoms of endometriosis to continue.
Estrogen and a weak immune system also promote the growth of endometriosis. Since you had endometriosis since you were 19 the scar tissue on the bowel or bladder may be persistent. A laproscopic examination will help in confirmation of diagnosis.

Could my medication have encouraged the endometriosis to keep growing?
Brief Answer:
No.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Amphetamines and Diazepam do not affect the growth of endometriosis. It is the hormone replacement therapy which can cause the persistent growth.
