Is It Safe To Consume Non Vegetarian Food While Having Rabies Shots?

I got scratched by a monkey on my chest. Though the wound is not very deep, it did bleed a little and has a bruise. I took anti-rabies injection after 24 hours and also consumed chicken and beer the same day. Is it ok to consume non-vegetarian during the rabies shots? My second shot is also over today and next is due after three days.
Non veg food can be consumed
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read your query in detail.
Your question is important and asked by many people who take anti rabies shots.
Taking non veg food cooked is allowed when taking rabies vaccination. The present day vaccines are made from chicken embryos and the manufacturing process is very pure. This does not cause any problem if you take non veg food.
In earlier days, vaccines used to be made out of horse blood and from the blood of other animals. Those vaccines were not very pure and certain foods like meat when consumed, reacted with antibodies in the vaccine and caused side effects. Avoiding non veg food was one way to decrease possibility of any adverse effect to rabies vaccine in older days.
Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
