Cow milk not recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
No matter how tempting it is , please do not give cow milk at this age .
Baby should be breast feed on demand till 6 moths of age . It should be exclusively breast feed whenever baby asks for. If the following criteria are fulfilled then baby is getting adequate feeds
1. Baby latches properly to breast ; Majority of areola (brown structure surrounding nipple ) should be inside the mouth of baby
2. There is fullness of cheeks when baby sucks
3. Swallowing movement can be seen and heard
4. Weight gain is adequate
4. Baby sleeps for 1 to 2 hours after every feeds
5. Urine output is adequate
6. Stools are typical milk stools (yellow in color with white particulate matter )
If the milk is not adequate there are ways to increase it.
