Is It Safe To Have Unprotected Sex Post HPV Infection Treatment?
Question: I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend and fifteen years ago I had hpv and had warts removed. There are no visible signs of them and I don't have any stds. What are the chances that I could have passed them on and can I ever havecsex without a condom. I'm freaking out about this. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
So long as you have no active lesions, you are fre!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Please you are not contagious as long as you do not have visible lesions on your genitals. It does not mean that once you have an HPV infection, you are contagious for life. As long as you cannot see any lesions, please know that you cannot transmit this infection. I generally advise that persons use condoms not only to prevent contaminating others to prevent being infected. As long as you can always use condoms, use them because they offer more advantages.
I hope this clarifies your worries. I hope this helps. I wish you well and thank you so much for using our services. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

HI I went to the doctor today as I noticed a blood mark after oral sex on my penis. It turned into a scab and then I noticed four other red marks that had a bit of blood on them again after another oral sex session with my girlfriend. They turned into small scabs. The first one went away. They never turned into a blister and don't itch or hurt in any way. The doctor said I have no signs of hpv warts and he thinks fifty fifty the scabs could be herpes or related to abrasion from oral sex. I thought it might be from my girlfriends teeth. I am freaking out. I haven't had sex in a year and prior to that I had a monogomous girlfriend and always used a condom. I recently had unprotected sex with my new girlfriend last Friday. Can you please clarify this? I had a blood test now and recently had a physical and all kinds of blood work. I do get cold sores and recently had one on my mouth. I don't know what to do. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
PLease, be calm!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I will advice that you wait for the results before we conclude on this. Can I also have a picture of these lesions you are talking about? Herpes would cause very painful ulcers with clean bases. If that is not what you have, then this is very unlikely to be herpes.
Cold sores on the mouth are often suggestive of previous oral herpes infection. This is not a sexually transmitted infection. Herpes seems to scare persons so much of which it is not as dangerous as many believe.
I hope this helps. I am leaning towards a normal test given your history and all the information. Keep me updated with your results. I wish you well.

Thank you for your response. I will have the blood work results Monday. The dr. did not do any other test. Like I said these are not blisters but have turned into little scabs. They do not hurt in any way. They are so small you can barley see them. How would I send a picture ? So I do have one question. I never had genital heroes before and have been tested for stds. In the past 20 years I have always used a condom. Does herpes always turn into blisters ? So your saying Limey it could be irritation related to abrasion or I believe from teeth marks. Please advise
Brief Answer:
Well, let's see what the results say buy unlikley to be herpes!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The description of these marks and your history is not suggestive of herpes. However, the test would provide definitive answers.
If you say they are so small, then a photograph may not help at this time. Let's see what the results show. keep me posted about them.
I wish you well.
