The interpretation of Pap test is as follows:
Pap test is done to look for pre-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions in the
cervix of female genital tract.
The pre-neoplastic lesion is called intra-epithelial lesion which is divided into low grade and high grade.
These lesions are caused by a virus called
Herpes papilloma virus (HPV).
Thus, in your report there is presence of
HPV infection showing cytopathic changes.
Cytopathic changes are the characteristic changes seen in the cervix due to HPV infection.
Thus, the HPV infection has caused a pre-neoplastic lesion called low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (SIL).
You need to stay in close follow up.
Majority of low grade SIL revert back to normal and only 50% progress furhet.
