Question: Hello sir my dad is a depression patient from past 6 years and off late he has stopped taking medicines so thats y we are planning to give medicines ( zapiz 0.5, sizodon liquid and bexol dt as prescribed by physchiatrist) by mixing it in morning coffee n evening tea. Now my doubt is when can i mix these tablets either in boiled milk or in unboiled milk.
Brief Answer:
Avoid hot milk to give the drugs.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.
I can understand your concerns about your dad.
U.S. FDA prescribing information mentions that Sizodon liquid is compatible in the following beverages:
water,
coffee,
orange juice,
and
low-fat milk;
It is NOT compatible with either cola or tea.
In my opinion, you can give the medicines in milk but it should preferably not be hot. The high temperature might denature the drugs and decrease their efficacy.
Hope this helps.
