Is It Safe To Start Medicines For Hyperthyroidism Without Checking TSH And T3 Levels?

Question: well I was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroids but was never checked , like my blood work for instance. They went strictly by my weight which would only drop 3 to 4 pounds . Then taking the medicine for hyperthyroidism I noitice swelling on my left side of face and pain in the back of my head. Do I have a lawsuit because I never once had my blood levels checked ? Im currently not taking my medicine and feel fine.

Brief Answer:
Thyroid
Detailed Answer:
It seems a bit unusual that your levels were not checked and medication for hyperthyroidism was started.
However you have mentioned that somewhere your thyroid blood test was run and it was at 4. Would you know if this was the TSH or free T4?
It is possible to have an allergic reaction to any medicine, and thyroid medication is no exception.
Would you know the name of the medication you are taking?
