Is It Safe To Switch From Plavix To Curcumin?
Question: I have pvd and am taking plavix75mg and want to do a supplement curcumin c3 instead at 3000mgs a day due to plavix side effects is this possible
Brief Answer:
This is not recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
plavix is a drug which means that medical studies have been conducted and we do know that it benefits your condition (PVD). Curcumin on the other hand is not a drug and no medical study has shown its effectiveness and safety for PVD or other conditions.
So in conclusion, I would advise you against its use.
Kind Regards!

I have been looking over quite a few. Clinical. Studies and most of them have found that it is an anticoagulate so why would this not work
Brief Answer:
Curcumin is not used with today's knowledge
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
there are some studies that have shown encouraging results regarding its use but no proper medical study has provided sufficient data regarding it's effectiveness. Perhaps more studies will be conducted in the future...
By today's medical knowledge curcumin cannot and should not replace plavix for any indication.
I'll be glad to take a look at the studies you're talking about though.
Can you provide any links?

Therapeutic roles of curcumin learned from clinical trials @www.ncbi.nlm.gov/pubmed/0000.
Brief Answer:
I've found that too
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had read that before answering to you in the first place. If you read the whole article and reach the end of it, you'll notice that the author who described all the potentially beneficial actions of curcumin, concluded that it cannot be used yet.
Drugs have to be officially approved for some indication before doctors can advise patients to use them. So until more data are available (hopefully they will be some day), using curcumin cannot be recommended.
Kind Regards!
