Is It Safe To Take Duromine Along With Levothyroxine?
Any thoughts please?

Thyroid/duromine
Detailed Answer:
There is no known direct interaction between duromine and levothyroxine, that is of clinical significance. This is to the best of my knowledge of published scientific literature.
In general, levothyroxine should be taken with water on an empty stomach 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. So it is advisable to take duromine and for that matter any other medications/tablets after this time gap.
I see it has been 3 weeks since your thyroid surgery. When I see someone like you in my practice I typically run blood tests for thyroid function (TSH and Free T4) about 4 to 6 weeks after surgery to ensure appropriateness of the levothyroxine dose. It may require fine tuning for the first couple months to arrive at the dose appropriate for you.
There is no direct conflict between the two medications. However, it would be reasonable to wait till levothyroxine dose is stable in the desired range, before duromine is introduced. The reason for this is that some of the effects and side effects of duromine (such as weight loss, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, sleeplessness) can mimic those of excess levothyroxine doing. So if both are being taken together it can become difficult to distinguish between the impact of the two medications.
