Brief Answer:
Safe. Two capsules are needed to combat anemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Hemoglobin level 8.3 gm% indicates MILD degree ANEMIA in pregnancy and its level should be at least 10 gm% or more to avoid risk and complication.

2) FEROGLOBIN B12 is slow release capsule and it should be taken as directed (twice daily) to restore body iron. Two capsules are needed to combat anemia and it is quite safe during pregnancy period.

3) She must take balanced diet, rich in protein and iron. Foods are to be included egg, meat, liver, peas, green vegetables, beans, onion stalk, jaggery, figs, banana, whole wheat etc.

4) If there is NO improvement in hemoglobin level after 4 weeks, then she may require IRON injection to increase hemoglobin percentage and body iron store.

IRON SUCROSE injection is mostly preferred as it is safe, effective and has lesser side effects. More number of doses may be required.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish her good health and take care.
