Brief Answer:
She can take Melatonin.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Melatonin can be taken comfortably with the BP medicines. In fact clinical experiences and studies have shown that Melatonin is effective in controlling the Blood pressure too.
So with her problems of Atrial fibrillation, Single Functioning Kidney and Hypertension, Melatonin can be taken.
I would also advice following things for better sleep:
1. Avoid sleeping in day time.

2. Eat light in dinner

3. To walk after meals as acid reflux can also cause disturbed sleep.

4. To go for urination before she goes to bed so that the Urination in night doesn't disturb her during her sleep.

5. To exercise daily.

Melatonin helps in improving the sleep cycle. But in my practice I have seen that if you avoid to sleep in day time you get good sleep in night.
Noe if she is obese or snores heavily in night then that might be one possible reason for her disturbed sleep.
I hops you find the information helpful.

Brief Answer:
You can ask me as many queries you want!

Detailed Answer:
Hi, There is no particular standard dose of Melatonin for any one.
In adults, melatonin is taken in doses from 0.2 mg to 20.0 mg depending on the indication.
In case of your mother, i would prefer to start her with 0.5 mg only and wait for the effects. Remember that higher Melatonin dosing is not necessarily better, and may even worsen the sleep pattern.
Most doctor's recommend it's intake 30 minutes prior to bed time.
I hope it helps.
