Question: Hi Doctor.. Yesterday , accidently some detergent mixed water went inside my right eye accidentally. Iam also having a upper respiratory infection since yesterday. When i woke up today morning my right eye was red and there was white liquid discharge. Doctor have adviced me to take AZEE-500(1/day for 3 days), Vigamox eye drop and Refresh Liquigel. I took the medicine today afternoon and one drop of Vigamox eye drop and Refresh Liquigel. My right eye is now still paining than in the morning, there is itching, has become more reddish than in the morning and also, some sticky fluid is coming out of the eye most of the time, and my right eye seems blurred due to the fluid. Will this medication take some time to get this resolved or should i change the medication?

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
These symptoms indicate infection of the eye in the form conjunctivitis.
The treatment you are on in the form of vigamox, a antibiotic and refresh liquigel is in right direction.
You need to continue them as advised by your doctor.
The infection will respond in 2-3 days. If it is not improving then we need yo change the antibiotic.
Hence I advice you to continue same treatment.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Brief Answer:
You can use antibiotic eye ointment during night.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Eye discharge is because of infection. This will resolve once the infection is treated. Hence no need to worry about eye discharge. You need to clean the eyes as soon as you get up. You need to take precaution to avoid sharing kerchiefs or bed sheets as this can lead to spread of infection to others also.
You can antibiotic eye ointment like ciprofloxacin eye ointment at bed time to decrease the formation of discharge.
Slight blurred vision from sticky discharge is normal and no need to worry about it.

Hope the information is helpful to you.
