Is It Safe To Use Mucopain When Suffering From Pain In Tooth?

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Apr 2015
Question: i am applying mucopain for pain in tooth. is it a safe formulation? i have hearing loss in right ear. Or will I go for other painkillers?

I also added these lines to the question. " The doctor has suggested 'surgical removal' of the tooth which will not need anti-biotic or painkillers. Is that possible? Also the tooth is strong otherwise so will i opt for rootcanal? I need to choose a procedure which has least involvement of antibiotic or painkillers XXXXXXX to my sudden hearing loss episode.

Brief Answer:
surgical removal, antibiotics and analgesics, RCT

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, i have gone through your query.
As far as applying mucopain over the tooth is concerned, it will not be effective if the tooth pain is secondary to decayed tooth. If the tooth pain is because of the gum infection or ulcer near the tooth, then the mucopain will be effective in reducing the pain. Mucopain will not cause any harmful effects. You can take pain killers along with antibiotics to reduce the infection and pain.

If the tooth extration is advised then you should take a course of antibiotics and analgesics to reduce the infection and control further infection following extraction. Routinely prescribe analgesics and antibiotics for the dental procedures will not cause hearing loss, so nothing to be panic. Very rarely analgesics like salicylates and opioids can cause hearing loss, so avoid these drugs and take substitute drugs like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Antibiotics like erythromycin and gentamycin can cause hearing loss, so you can avoid these drugs and take a substitute drugs like amoxycillin. So consult a good oral physician and explain your problem and take a prescription of the above said drugs.
Further if it is a decayed wisdom tooth, then I will recommend you to get the tooth removed under local anesthesia since the tooth is non functional. Root canal treatment is an option if it is other molar (not wisdom tooth).

These are the possible answers to your query based on the description of your problem. If you can upload the images of the tooth in problem, then I can give you exact diagnosis and treatment plan.

I hope i have answered your query. If any queries are there, reply me back.

Take care
