Is It Safe To Use Shared Syringes With New Needle?

Question: Hello Doctor,
On 3rd January 2015 I had gone to take a B12 injection to my doctor. Apparently he had another patient who comes to take the same injection. When i went for the shot he used the same syringe he had used to previously for the other patient just changed the needle and gave me the injection. Please advice me what should I do now ? Am I at any kind of risk ? I am really tensed ? Hope I dont get any serious infection from this act by my doctor. Please advice me what should I do

Brief Answer:
Relax.

HI XXXXXXX
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic .
First of all Relax , nothing will happen to you and nothing needs to be done.
When any medicine is given , medicine enters the blood but blood comes in contact with only the needle and not the syringe as a whole . So if your doctor has changed the needle then there is no risk of you getting any disease from the previous person.
But still that practise is not good and next time ask for a whole Syringe.
Hope this information was useful to you .
Any clarification feel free to ask .
Regards.

Nobody in medicine can give 100% guarantee. But I am very much sure that nothing will happen.
But if you are very anxious then you can get tested for HIV and Hepatitis B and C .
Hope this information was useful .
