Is Laproscopic Surgery The Solution For Chocolate Cyst Of Ovary?

Question: I have been diagnosed with ovarian cyst. The size of the cyst is 5.9*6.4*5.9 CM. Doctor says it is Chocolate Cyst and it should be removed with Laproscopy.
I was pregnant during december but then i had a miscarriage within 7 days of pregnancy confirmation through urine test. Doctor says this might be due to the cyst. Also initially during december 2013 the size of the cyst was 7.7*6.9*5.5 cm. But now it is reduced. I was taking birth control pill in order to try reducing cyst for two months but then i stopped it by Feb end. Let me please know is it safe to undergo surgery. Is it safe because i am not having even my first baby yet. Kindly clarify.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The chocolate cyst of ovary is due to endometrial cyst of ovary. It can cause difficulty in conception and ovulation.
It is best to get the cyst removed laparoscopically with minimal damage to the ovarian tissue.
Your doctor has suggested you correctly. This will help in decreasing the pain and will increase your chances of conception.
