Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have seen the reports sent by you.
Although there are no test reports in that but the prescription of the doctor clearly suggests that the patient is suffering from chronic liver disease ( CLD ).
CLD takes years to develop and is diagnosed by blood tests,CT scans and liver biopsy.
Over the period of years there is successive deterioration of the liver parameters inspite of the treatment and precautions.
once this stage reaches ,liver transplant becomes the only alternative and that is why your doctor has advised for it.
It is better to go for liver transplant now because once there are complications, then it may be late.
The success rate of liver transplant in India is 85-90% in first year and 75-80% ,five years after the transplant.
The cost of surgery varies from 15-30 lacs depending upon the hospital, surgeon etc.
AIIMS does have the facility of liver transplant.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck.
Thanks
Dear Dr. XXXXXXX
Thanks alot for your detailed answers. As you suggested there are no reports in the attachments can you please suggest what all reports are required to are required to justify the situation of liver transplant
1. CT Scans
2. What all blood tests?
3. Any other if required?
Also can please elaborate the meaning of "The success rate of liver transplant in India is 85-90% in first year and 75-80% ,five years after the transplant"
We check Medanta it costs 20-25 Lacs as pacakge for transplant. Can you suggest anything at lower cost like 15 lacs. Is it possible in PGI Chandigarh?
Best Regards
XXXX
Hello,
Liver biopsy and blood reports are the most important reports which decide the liver transplant.
Success rate of 85-90% in first year means that out of 100 people 85-90 people would be surviving at the end of one year.
Liver transplant would definitely be cheaper at AIIMS in DELHI nd PGI in CHANDIGARH.
Thanks
