Question: Hello Doc! My mom has been suffering from mild knee arthritis for the past 1 or 2 years. For the past 2 months, the pain became severe that she couldn't be without having medicines.. I heard that low level laser therapy (LLLT) will give relief for at least 3 months.. Am planning to take her for the treatment.. please brief me about LLLT and I would like to know how far the treatment will relieve her from pain.

Brief Answer:
it is a part of physical therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

Low level laser therapy is a part of physical therapy. It uses irradiation intensities that induse minimal temperature elevation. It may reduces pain related to inflammation.
It has been shown useful in short term treatment of acute pain caused by osteoarthritis.

It will relieve her from pain for 2-3 months.

Hope this will help you.

Warm regards.

Thank you. I would like to know whether it is safe or not.. Will it cause any side effects? Can I guarantee her that it will relieve her from pain for 2 to 3 months?
