Brief Answer:
yes, it is the same thing

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it would be the same.

The vertebra (bones in the back ) in the lower back are called the lumbar vertebra. There are five lumbar vertebra- L1, L2, L3, L4, L5.
The sacrum (S in the report) is under the lumbar vertebra.

So lower back pain would involve these vertebra/bones or muscles and other soft tissue in the lower back.

Between the vertebra are the intervertebral discs. These discs are between all of the vertebra.
Their main role is as shock absorbers. It is made up of an outer and inner ring.

Nerves leave the spine through spaces between the vertebra. These nerves then go to supply different areas of the body.

REPORT

Degenerative disc disease- the disc between the vertebra has changed/broken down/degenerated. This can cause the vertebra to be closer than they should be which can then affect the nerves passing out.

L 4/5, S1-3- When this occurs the two vertebra can then compress the nerves coming out.
This means that the nerves exiting at the level of these vertebra (L4, L5, S1-3)
may be compressed by the associated bone because the space between them is reduced.

Lumbar strain means that the muscles in the lower back are also affected.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
