Brief Answer:
Causes of hair loss

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
There are many causes of hair loss and treatment depends on the cause.
The most common causes encountered by me are male pattern baldness, fevers like typhoid and malaria, chronic diseases including that of the scalp, certain medications, anemia, thyroid disorders, surgery, trauma and accidents.
I would recommend you to get your haemoglobin, thyroid function tests and serum ferritin levels checked to rule out anemia and thyroid dysfunction.
Hair loss is not usually associated with deficiency of selenium or zinc.
If you want to take supplements for hair and nail take those medicines which contain biotin as it is important for hair and nail nutrition.
I would recommend you to take tablet follihair or tablet keraglo men once daily for 3-4 months.
This will prevent further hair fall and will cause hair regrowth.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
