Question: I am 14 weeks pregnant and used my bathtub jet to masturbate. Could this cause an air embolism. I was about 6 inches away from the jet.

Brief Answer:
No air embolism is not possible but avoid force spray

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

At 14 weeks pregnancy masturbation is safe in general. No possibility of air embolism with bathtub jet as your cervical internal opening is closed completly. You were 6 inches away means no possibility of excessive force.
Just keep in mind that force of water should not be more(which causes pain or discomfort), not be persistent and not towards center of the lumen as it can affect placental membrane.

Note: If you use any other object/vibrator for masturbation make sure that it is enough clean and not sharp.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Could an air embolism enter one of the veins of your vagina this way though? I know my husband is not supposed to blow air in my vagina , I was just worried the bathtub jet could do the same thing?

Brief Answer:
no it is not possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up.

No air cannot enter in veins of the vagina through this.

Do not need to worry at all. If you have any physical symptoms please let me know so I can clear your doubts. If no physical symptoms and you can enjoy masturbation without any discomfort everything is fine.

Take care.
