Is Medically-induced Coma A Common Practice After A Stroke?
Treatment depends on the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted the details of your friend. These are sketchy details, however, it seems that she could have suffered a brain bleed or stroke.
If there is brain swelling, then, it is normal to keep patients in medically-induced coma for a few days (until the brain swelling subsides).
If you are able to access her CT brain reports, please upload them here.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
