Question: My son is almost 2 years old. My son had vomitting before 2 weeks for 2-3 days because of travel. His doctor gave prescription and told to avoid milk. Since 3 weeks we have not included milk in his diet. My son eats pretty much everything now, but he is become weak now. Should we include health (milk with pediasure) or any other food?

Brief Answer:
It is better to restrict milk intake altogether.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Milk allergy is often seen in children and avoiding milk intake usually resolves the problem. In the case of your child giving milk may once again precipitate problems. You are free to take a trial but I would discourage that especially because milk is just an accessory part of the diet provided that he gets nutritional ingredients from other food sources.

Pediasure or any other supplements do not give you anything extra other than what you already offer in a standard meal. I leave the choice to you although I would not justify use of such supplements.

Giving him a wholesome diet would be more than enough to make him strong and healthy. Of course this has to be backed by regular play habits.

Regards
