Is Missing Mirapex-ER Dosage For Parkinson's Disease A Cause For Concern?
Question: I am on a out of state trip for a christening of my grand daughter and today is my third day without taking my Mirapex ER for Parkinson's disease and we were not planning to return until tomorrow afternoon (a 7 hr drive away). How serious is this situation for me to be without? I have all my other pd medications and upper my Senimet yesterday to hopefully help compensate. I also have Entacapone with me
Am I am on danger of waiting another day without it or can I continue? I feel more tired than normal and not sleeping well?
Finally when I get home should I continue to take my 1,5 mg per day mirapex ER or do I need to ramp up slowly again?

Brief Answer:
You are out of danger.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your diagnosis and current medications.
There is no danger on stopping Mirapex ER for a few days. You may notice mild rigidity of limbs or slowness of activities.
Once you return home, you can resume your previous dose 1.5 mg ER per day. Only if the discontinuation is for a longer time, say two weeks or more, we should start at a low dose and build it up.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
