Brief Answer:
Paracetamol is the mainstay of treatment

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Most often fever in children is due to viral cause. Antibiotics are ineffective in such cases and paracetamol is the mainstay of treatment. It needs to be given as and when needed if there is fever. Tepid sponging will also help. But you might need to wait for 5-7 days for the fever to resolve. It is only if the fever lasts for more than 7 days that you need to get concerned. Another condition which will call for medical attention is lethargy.

Otherwise you just need to be patient.
