Brief Answer:
Need further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

I would also like to know if you have had any significant event like trauma, sexual intercourse, infection etc. before this happened. Also, I would like to know if you had the viability scan done.

Slight discharge does not always mean there is something wrong with the pregnancy. Of course, this needs to be monitored as it may be associated with some hormone imbalance or intrauterine hemorrhage. A sonogram should be done to ascertain the fetal well being and if everything is fine, rest in bed is advised. Hormone supplements may be given if needed to sustain the pregnancy until the placenta takes over.

So, please inform your health care provider for further monitoring. Take absolute rest, avoid sexual intercourse and any other form of stress.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

The last time I had sex was 2 days ago, no pain or problems afterwards, we had a scan at 6 weeks and again at 9 weeks as I have epilepsy and the hospital was worried after significant seizures - both showed baby to be fine. As far as I am aware I have no infections Currently although I do suffer with recurrent urinary tract infections - no current symptoms. I have a history of recurrent miscarriage this is the furthest we've ever gotten.

Brief Answer:
Please report to your consultant as early as possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Given the history of recurrent abortions, I would ask you to report to your consultant immediately for further management. Sexual intercourse may have precipitated some strain on the uterus and caused this spotting, but, exact cause can be known after an evaluation and a sonogram. It may not be highly significant and needs no panic, but still needs proper attention. Urinalysis also should be done to exclude any infection. Please do not worry, early management can take care of things.

Hope this helps. Please do contact if you need any more suggestions.

regards,
Shanti.V.
