Brief Answer: Not a safe thing to do. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. It was an ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE thing to do. People with DVT history and Factor V deficiency are not supposed to take the pill. I will advise you to stop taking plan B. As of now do not panic. Watch for symptoms/signs of pain in legs , redness, or breathlessness. See your doctor immediately if you witness the above mentioned symptoms. Also keep moving about atleast once every hour for 10 minutes so that your blood circulation in legs is good. Do not worry; not all women with risk get DVT after taking Plan B. But please do not repeat this again. Feel free to consult me directly http://bit.ly/drsombiswas Regards Dr. Som Biswas M.D. Mumbai

I was under the impression that estrogen was the concern, not progesterone containing only pills. I'm very upset I made such a bad call. How long will the drug stay in my system and how long til I'm out of the danger zone?

Brief Answer: 4-5 days of careful observation Detailed Answer: Dear XXXXXXX Yes progesterone containing only pills have less risk but still its a risk . Normally hormonal effects last for 4 weeks . While there is nothing called a danger zone but do 4-5 days of careful observation and then just be cautious till 4 weeks. I will strongly advice to not repeat it again. Regards Dr. Som Biswas M.D.
