Is Pregnancy Possible After Taking Contraceptives At Various Intervals?

default
Posted on Fri, 25 Sep 2015
Question: My doctor prescribed me dronis 30 for PCOD, since i know its a contraceptive pill, I had unprotected sex with my guy, I regularly take my pill I necessarily do not take it on the same time like I usually take my dose during night at bedtime, But generally there is a time lag of 3-4 hours in taking the pills. I would like to know are there chances of conceiving if you fail to take the pill on the exact same time even if you do not miss any dose. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
less chances of pregnancy if you have not missed any dose.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

Although birth control pills are totally effective but still a lady can get pregnant while taking it because they do not provide 100% protection.

There effectiveness varies between 90 to 95% when taken regularly.

Also, pregnancy might happen, not because that pill has failed to work but because of other reasons like forgetting to take the pill every day or not taking the pill daily on same time, which is also very essential.

So,if you have not missed any dose then it is fine but it is also very important that you take the pill on the same time every day.

3 or 4 hours lag is not that much but it would be advisable that you take it at the same time regularly.

Here, chances of pregnancy are less because you do not have skipped or missed a single dose even.

Hope this will help you and i will be happy to answer your follow-up query.

Brief Answer:
No need of contraceptive.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I said earlier,if you have not missed any dose then no need to worry.

3 or 4 hours lag is not much to cause failure of contraception. In fuure take the pill on almost same time every day to have nearly 100% contraception.

There is no need to take any other emergency contraceptive pill.
