Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Being On Birth Control Pills?
Question: "I am on birth control. Starting my white pills today. I had sex about 3 weeks ago. I missed one pill about 7 days after that. Last week I had brown spotting. I heard that could mean pregnancy. Is this true?"

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. In case you miss the white pill, it is recommended to Take it as soon as you remember and take the next pill at your regular time. (You may have to
take 2 pills in 1 day). Now as 7 days have passed so its not relevant but you can keep it in mind next time. In your situation it is recommended that you MUST use a backup birth control method during the next 7 days. Brown spotting in your case could be due to following causes:
1. Irregular bleeding due to hormonal imbalance
2. Ovulation phase
3. implantation bleeding
Hopefully your discharge was because of ovulation. I would suggest you to wait for few days and then get urinary pregnancy test to confirm the status of pregnancy OR you can get blood test done to confirm pregnancy. These will rule out pregnancy and you can continue with your daily routine.
