Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Having I Pill Within 24 Hours Of Unprotected Sex?

Do not take any more medicines.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
There is almost no chance of pregnancy because -
1. On 3rd September, chances of ovulation are quite low.
2. You have already taken 2 I pills within 24 hours.
Please do not take any more pills, it will not add to their efficacy, but you will have lots of undesirable side effects.
Pregnancy chances are very low.
You may have some withdrawal bleeding in a few days.
Also your next period might be preponed or postponed by a few days.
Just take a pregnancy test 15 days after this episode of unprotected sex happened.
Use reliable contraception in future.
No medication can force your periods.
You have already taken very high dosage of hormones, so there is no need for taking any more hormonal medication.
Just wait and watch.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.

1) I believe that I was in safe period. I started my period on 26th Aug, finished completely on 30th Aug. The act happened on 3rd Sep morning at around 11am and by 12, within an hour, I had two ipills. Please confirm that I am safe
2) Should I go for IUD ?
3) Any thing that I need to get checked from the gyne? I had pain in lower belly last night but nothing yet so far. No bleeding nothing. How do I know if pills worked?
No need for the IUD
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
After taking such high doses of hormones, there is absolutely no need for an emergency IUD.
IT will only compound side effects, without adding to the benefits.
There is nothing like an absolute safe period, but relatively, it was a safe period.
1. Yes the dates place you within the so called safe period, which is never 100 % safe, but safer than the ovulatory period.
2. No need for the IUD after taking two I pills.
3. You will know if the pills worked, only if you do not get pregnant ! There is no other way to confirm that the pills worked.
Many women have no side effects. I think you might have withdrawal bleeding in a few days.
You can do, and should do, nothing now
Just test after 2 weeks.
Relax right now.

No way to predict next period /bleeding.
Detailed Answer:
There is no way to predict when you will bleed.
It can be anytime.
2 I pills will make your bleeding pattern very erratic and irregular for a month or two.
If you take any more medications, the menstrual irregularity will be too much to handle.
Trust me, just wait and watch.

Please don't judge me as I am sure, i am sounding like a totally stupid girl. I am 25 and a btech but I am just not sure about these things and neither is my bf who is also a btech. That's why i am bugging you so much. Hope you are going to support meinn this so much bad period . Thanks agin and I shall wait for your reply.
You do not need to do anything.
Detailed Answer:
THank you for your kind words.
I totally understand the situation
It can be quite scary for a non medical person.
I am always here, just a click away.
That is why I have provided you with the direct link to my profile, you can post a question directly anytime, without any explanations.
Bleeding after I pill is not related to conception at all.
IF there is no bleeding, that means nothing either ways.
The pregnancy test has to be taken 15 days after the act of unprotected sex.
White discharge during arousal is quite normal, it does not complicate things in any manner.
There is no need to go anywhere or do any form of testing, please.
Just relax.
You have done the best you could.
Any more medications will mean a lot of undesirable side effects.
You are never bugging me, I am happy to answer your questions and to support you at any point of time.
Please never hesitate to ask anything, at any time.
HOpe this helps you.
Take care.

So even if there is no bleeding in the next few days, it can be considered okay? One of my married friend told me that she finished her periods and thenthe following week, she had a lot of sex-about 2 times in the night for the entire week. Her husband got her an iPill and she had that . After about 10 days, she had a little bit of bleeding which she ignored. Then she said she felt electric current sort of in her breasts and also, a lot of nausea. Her periods were delayed for about 10 days. She didn't do any tests though. After that she was into a lot of house chores lile cleaning etc. After about 15days from the date, she got her periods and it was so much painful and the flowwas also very high. Now she said, she must have concieved and the heavy flow was due to miscarriage. But when I read about the pill over the net, I could see the same things being written about the pill and it's after effects too. She definitely had one just one pill in the entire week not like that after every night, she would swallow one. She just got me scared saying that you never know and safe period is nothing. Please, tell me what could have happened?
I am not going to take any more med . I am just trying to relax my mind but thre is no bleeding and that's making me worried. As you XXXXXXX no bleeding means nothing either ways. Can you please explain this to me? I shall do a test on 20th of this month.
And yes, I shall be posting the next question on your personal profile page only. Thanks so much for bearing with me.
Explained
Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
See , with regards to your friends, all these are side effects of the I pill - bleeding after 10 days, nausea, breast changes, delayed periods, and then heavy periods after the normal date.
So there is no reason for her to assume that she had a miscarriage.
There is no absolute safe period, but there is relative safe period, and you were in that safe period.
See, when I pill is taken, high dose of hormones are given in the body, and whether you are pregnant or not, some women experience withdrawal bleeding when those high hormone levels fall after a few days.
Every body is different, and different women react in different ways to the I pill.
Some have withdrawal bleeding, some do not, and it is just not related to conception.
Just a test on the 20th will tell you and reassure you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
God bless.
Relax.

I went to see another doc in the nearby hospital and this is what she mentioned to me aout bleeding of the pill.
" You had taken ipill within 4 days of your periods. This time is not enough for uterine lining to grow enough to cause shedding and thus there would be no bleeding.
Also, this immature uterine lining is not conducive for implantation. This is another reason that there will be no pregnancy."
is it correct? I have not got any bleeding yet and this was the explanation that was given by htat doc. Please, help me in getting my mindto some ease.
I shall do a test on 20th of this month dr. Thanks so much for all the help, you are just so kind and such an XXXXXXX that you are bearing with me with so mich of patience. Please put up with me and with my (rather idiotic) doubts till this is over. Please!
Have tried to explain in my own way
Detailed Answer:
Well it is a very technical explanation , is it not !
To put it simply, when you take the I pill early on in your cycle, away from ovulation days, chances of pregnancy are less, for various reasons, main one being that there is no egg to fertilize, as you have not ovulated !
According to me, even if there is a little bit lining present, it can be shed, and you still have a chance of having a bleed within the next week.
I cannot justify her answer, but I can give mine, and hope that it makes sense to you ?
Some women will not have any withdrawal bleeding, and some will have it.
It is an individual response , do not attach any meaning to it.
If you bleed, you are pregnant, or if you do not, you are not - there is no such corelation, or vice versa.
You just have to take a test on the 20th, that is all.
Till then, relax, as stress will further cause menstrual irregularities.
Thank you for your kind words, and will look forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
